I was born in Abidjan, and live in Bordeaux. I studied at the ‘Ecole des Beaux Arts’ followed by Visual Communication. I'm 37 and work as a graphic designer in advertising. In 2015, I have made a "Mastered" with Nick Knight based in London and will doing anotherone in feb/17.
I've taught myself photography.
Two significant projects gave me the desire to go beyond simple illustration. The first in 2010, involved a series of 250 portraits of women from 1 to 103 year-old brought together in a single canvas. In 2013, I gathered 400 portraits as part of the fight against breast cancer.
" I like to express human relationships through imagery and compositions. My work in advertising finances my passion whilst life and challenges fuel my creativity.
I look for the real emotions which flow from photo shoots. I often set the scene and chose background and styling but watch how my models interact or relax between two positions. I want to capture the true moment between my fiction and their reality.
I’m attracted by a model’s personality because of what can happen between them and me and their contribution to the work.
I want to reflect the moment as it was experienced which is why I let my team interpret my initial requests.
I often approach emotions through the body and it’s poses rather than the face."
